I guess, it’s all lit with desire.</p> <p>Tonight I think about those words, about the way he offered me exactly what I couldn’t take. That night I didn’t feel noble. I felt incapable of love, truth be told. How could I not have said, “yes.” How could I have done it again? A blank page and some unprocessed film rolls looked at me with dismay. My scratched lens—it wouldn’t even look at me.
